Meet Ally Keown.
Ally is a wife and a mom of two, working full-time in the technology space but Turn Up Dance Fitness is her passion. Sharing Turn Up with the community has been one of her proudest accomplishments. She knows the power of Turn Up from direct experience, as she found dance fitness at a particularly low point in life and taking classes, eventually becoming an instructor, saved her again and again. Through dance she found confidence, self-awareness, strength. Ally is so excited to have the opportunity to share this class with you and your fellow participants.
When not working, dancing or spending time with family, you can find Ally between the pages of a good book.
Here is a quick overview of Turn Up Dance Fitness that Ally Teaches:
Turn Up Dance Fitness calls us all to evolve unapologetically, to live loudly and to dance ruthlessly – we do this in and outside of classes. During classes, your instructor will guide you through workouts that combine dance with fitness elements of strength, HIIT, toning and active recovery.
Think burpees, but let’s add them between dance moves, make them cute and way more fun!
Or push-ups but let’s make ’em a party with a twerk at the bottom!
Your workout doesn’t have to be a chore, something you dread or do as a punishment. Your workout can be therapeutic, a release, that one hour a day that you dedicate to taking care of yourself.
Outside of classes, you’ll find that powerful results follow. Participants share they sleep better, they’ve gained the confidence to ask for that raise or leave that job, start that business. Participants share physical transformations, gains in strength and changes to body composition, as well as decreases in anxiety.
Don’t have dance or previous fitness experience? You don’t need it! This class is intended for ALL bodies and is beginner-friendly. Modifications and progressions will always be presented. Not ready to twerk, yet? That’s okay! You never have to worry about matching the instructor or the participant next to you. No two workouts are the same but they all have the same rule – no judgement!
